The Willy Evans Trio has been around in some form or other for about 10 years. The Trio was born in Asheville, NC, then moved to Charlotte a few years later. Though the supporting personnel has changed over the years, the vision remains the same.

Willy uses the Trio to put forward his own take on the blues. Don't look to the the Trio for retro-faithful covers of blues standards, but be ready for a more modern take on the blues. The Trio moves around stylistically, but blues is at the center of it all.

It's blues for a generation that may never have seen a mule or spent 10 years on a work farm picking cotton, but they still get treated bad by somebody and feel put down from time to time.

Currently joining Willy in the Trio are:

		John Shaugnessy on Bass. John originally hails from Buffalo New York. He is very active in the Jazz community and also teaches bass and piano.
Bill Mann is playing drums. He is my original drummer and knows my music better than anyone. Bill was a member of Big Brick Building which was a favorite on the college circuit a few years back.
